Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of JustVerify, including justverify.et, the customer dashboard, and the payment verification API (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

JustVerify helps businesses verify Ethiopian bank and mobile-money payments by checking public receipt references and related public endpoints. We are an independent verification service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or agents of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), Ethio Telecom, Safaricom, or any other bank or wallet.

Important disclaimer: JustVerify is not affiliated with CBE, Ethio Telecom, or Safaricom. The Service uses publicly available receipt endpoints and share links published by those institutions (and others). Those endpoints can change, become unavailable, or return incomplete data without notice. JustVerify does not act as a bank, wallet, payment processor, or money-transfer agent.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys.
  • You must be able to enter a binding contract and use the Service for lawful business purposes.
  • We may require email verification before full dashboard or API access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for fraud, money laundering, or other unlawful activity.
  • Attempt to bypass quotas, rate limits, authentication, or security controls.
  • Resell raw access in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law without our written consent.
  • Interfere with Service integrity, scrape abusively, or reverse engineer except as allowed by law.
  • Submit unlawful content or data you are not authorized to process.

4. Verification results

Results depend on third-party public receipt pages and systems we do not control. Availability, format, and accuracy can change without notice. You remain responsible for your own payment acceptance decisions, customer disputes, and compliance with local law. JustVerify does not guarantee that every reference can be verified at all times.

5. Plans, quotas, and billing

  • Free and paid plans include monthly quotas, rate limits, and feature entitlements shown at signup or in the dashboard.
  • Paid plans are billed in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) unless stated otherwise. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly agreed.
  • We may suspend or throttle usage when quotas are exceeded or invoices are unpaid.
  • We may change plan pricing or features with notice for renewals; continued use after renewal constitutes acceptance.

6. API keys and data

Keep API keys confidential. Do not embed secret keys in public client apps. You grant us permission to process the references, receipt URLs, and related data you submit solely to provide and secure the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how personal data is handled.

7. Intellectual property

JustVerify branding, software, and documentation remain our property (or our licensors’). You retain rights to your own business data. You receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Service during your subscription.

8. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of third-party bank or wallet endpoints.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JustVerify and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for losses arising from reliance on verification results, third-party outages, or unauthorized use of your keys. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in that period (or ETB 1,000 if you are on a free plan).

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, abuse, unpaid invoices, legal risk, or Service discontinuation. Upon termination, your right to use the API ends; we may delete or anonymize data after a reasonable retention period unless law requires otherwise.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Addis Ababa have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections if they apply.
